Describe Yourself:I have ALS/Lou Gehrig's Disease, so I had to give up a teaching career, travel, and most of my friends and relationships with people who "don't know what to say", find my illness distasteful, don't want to think it could have been s/he, are suddenly "too busy", or any other hangup or excuse they might have conjured up to rationalize their distance. On the other hand, I have chosen to live with ALS, not prepare to die.
